Beauty And The Beast Live Action | Movie Review

Beauty and The Beast is a Disney princess classic that has pleased crowds since 1991 when the film graced our screens in animated form.

Recently though, a live-action version of the fairytale has been released and I got the luxury of going to see this film a couple of weeks ago.

Here is my review.

Storyline

The story is the same in the live action as it is in the animated version and every single detail is replicated into what makes a fantastic live action. In addition, the screen captivates the viewer the moment the main protagonist (Belle) waltzes onto the screen singing her opening number.

Visuals

The visuals in this film are absolutely stunning. The bright colours amaze the viewer and the main theme of winter is shown greatly as it represents the beast’s cold heart at the beginning of the film. Not only that but, I love the way they have made the beast look so very realistic as usually, that is a difficult aspect of pursuing in the film industry.

Characters

Each of the characters was very well written and were also played well. I completely adored Emma Watson as Belle as she fitted the character well and gave off the vibe of an intelligent, down to earth woman, which is the main persona of Belle. Not only that but, the character of Gaston was also very well played as he is a character that is very realistic in a patriarchal society and his narcissistic personality added humour to the film which made viewers enjoy him even though he was on the bad side.

Overall…

I would give this film…

Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club | Anime Review

Following on from the likes of Yuri!!! On Ice and Ouran Highschool Host Club, I decided to watch Free!-Iwatobi Swim Club (better known as Free!). I got loads of recommendations considering how I really enjoyed the previous two that I have just mentioned.

As a result of this, I thought I would do a review explaining my thoughts on this popular anime.

Elsword’s New Character – Ain | Review

You knew it was coming!

KOG games gave us players a massive Christmas present – Ain. Released on the 21st December, there was a massive invasion of Ain characters as everyone was dying to see what he was like. I was no exception to this massive gang of Ains rampaging through Elrios.

To save you guys the trouble of installing the game and waiting for the update to be completed (it was a big update!), I thought I would share my thoughts on this mysterious character.

Let’s get started!

Nichijou | Anime Review

Nichijou is a cute, moe anime that was released back in 2011 and has caught my attention for a really long time as my feed was filled with picture after picture of this show. Therefore, I decided to delve into the world of Nichijou to see what it was all about.

Here are my thoughts.

Story line

Yuuko, Mio and Mai are regular high school girls who lead a normal everyday life. However, with bizarre explosions causing random objects to rain down on their heads, lunch turning into an epic battle between girl and wiener, and students riding to school on goats, their lives are anything but ordinary. Meanwhile android Nano spends her days wishing she were a normal human, but keeping house for her creator, the playful and immature child genius Hakase, dealing with talking cat Sakamoto, and trying to keep a hold of her multitude of easily detachable body parts, her dream is far from a reality…

In this anime, there isn’t really a main story line to follow as in each episode there are tons of random sketches with the characters that feature on the show. These sketches usually have no link to one another, unless there is a running joke throughout the show. I was quite disappointed because most of the sketches weren’t that funny in my eyes and I only really laughed at a few. This probably would’ve been the fault of the translator’s subtitles, but overall the show started to bore me a bit. However, if you are into shows similar to ‘Sakamoto desu ga? and ‘Working!‘ , then I recommend checking this one out.

Animation

The animation is very cute and innocent and all the characters are very cute too. I liked the style of the animation during certain parody scenes as it looked really similar to the stereotypical shōnen animation that your find in shows such as: One Piece and Naruto. The animation is a big plus for me.

Characters

Like I stated in the previous paragraph, the art style makes the characters look cuter – I mean look at how adorable Hakase is! I liked the personalities of each of the characters as they are amusing and relatable. I really enjoyed the scenes with android Nano,Hakase and Sakamoto as I am able to relate to Hakase a lot.

Overall

Overall I would give this anime…
