Kimi No Na Wa is a movie that came out in 2016 and is currently leading the way in one of the most popular animated films produced by a company other than Studio Ghibli.
Here is my review.

Story Line
Mitsuha and Taki are two total strangers living completely different lives. But when Mitsuha makes a wish to leave her mountain town and for the bustling city of Tokyo, they become connected in a bizarre way. She dreams she is a boy living in Tokyo while Taki dreams he is a girl from a rural town he’s never been to. What does their newfound connection mean? And how will it bring them together?
Animation
I was unable to take my eyes off of the screen to even take a glance at the time as the animation was very stunning and allowed the viewer to feel more immersed within the story and to also feel more relatable to the landscapes, such as the city of Tokyo. However, what really stood out for me in terms of landscapes, was the illustrations of the town of Itomori (which is where Mitsuha is from) as the drawings were just so captivating which made me jealous of the scenery she was surrounded by all the time.
Characters
The two main protagonists have two very realistic personalities which allow them to be able to relate more with the viewer. Not only that but, apart from Mitsuha’s dad, the characters in the film were all very likeable and there weren’t any annoying characters that brought the film down in terms of quality.
Overall…
I would give this anime…

Love the review. I didn’t read it all as I haven’t been able to watch the movie myself yet. But what I did read has me even more hyped for when I finally get to watch it. Keep up the good work. 🙂
