Grand Fantasia | RPG Review

Grand Fantasia is a free to play,  anime – based MMORPG produced by Aeria which was released in 2009. This is one of the very first games Aeria had produced and I have decided to do a review on it.

So let’s get to it.

Character Customization

The customization works in a similar way to Eden Eternal, however there aren’t any race options.

In my opinion, I think the customization isn’t anything special, I mean there are a good variety of options but I enjoy making my character look as unique as possible, which isn’t something you can do in this game.

Also, the graphics aren’t great either as they are a bit chunky and remind me of a retro game released in the early 2000s which isn’t something I would be expecting from an RPG released in 2009.

Classes

Similar to Eden Eternal, in this game you are unable to choose a single class as throughout the game, one of the goals is to collect all the different possible classes that you can play as. This also means that switching between classes is possible but I prefer Eden’s way due to the fact that you didn’t have to constantly change the armor whenever you wanted to change class as the game did it for you.

Here is a list of the classes you can play as:

Novice

When you enter the world of Grand Fantasia, you begin your journey as a Novice on Siwa Island. This is where you begin your training as a Sprite Messenger! This small island paradise is the perfect place to learn the basics. Novices can only use basic weapons and armor, but eventually you’ll move on to greater things and more advanced classes.

Hunter

Hunters are masters of ranged attacks, able to use swords, bows, and guns. They can specialize in either ranged or melee at high levels.

Acolyte

Acolytes are powerful healers, able to restore players from the brink of death and even from death itself.

Spellcaster

Spellcasters are scholars of the mystic arts who wield potent magic spells with control and dedication.

Mechanic

Mechanics are half-man, half-machine specialized in armed combat and heavy weaponry. Their damage makes them a valued ally and ferocious enemies.

Story Line

I didn’t get into the story line as I didn’t really understand what was happening as most of it was unclear from the start which meant, I didn’t know why I was completing these quests.

Questing

Questing in this game is very linear as most of it consists of killing enemies and collecting materials in order. This gets extremely boring after a while and doesn’t allow the story to flow as nicely, making the player not feel immersed within the game.

Overall

I would give this game
